Following the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church fire during April 2021, nearly three years later, a man has finally been charged, reports CBC News.
The man in connection with the church burning is 37-years old and is scheduled to appear in court by Wednesday.
Bishop of the Diocese of Hearst-Moosonee, Pierre-Olivier Tremblay does not believe however that this church burning was in connection with the other churches that were targeted with arson during the 2021 church burnings that resulted from the colonialism within the First Nations communities.
Tremblay states that the people are very eager to see their church be rebuilt and currently the masses are said in the church hall.
