As reported by CTV News, St. Anthony's Cathedral suffered a vandalism in which copper was stripped from the cathedral's AC unit.
The vandalism happened between June 27 and 28. The AC unit was located at the rectory of the cathedral.
The parish priest, Fr. John Lemire states the damage was extensive, the AC unit had been completely ripped up and strewn about.
Since the unit cannot be repaired, the replacement will cost around $5,000.
There have been several other incidents in the community involving private properties and businesses related to copper stripping.
The police investigation remains ongoing.
