As reported by Business in Vancouver, the woman responsible for vandalizing St. Jude Catholic Church with orange paint has been given a conditional discharge.

Emily Luba, 27-years old pleaded guilty to mischief and was then given a conditional discharge and a fine of $1,250.

The judge says witnesses at the time saw Luba and her twin sister splash paint on the church and were seen walking away.

Police had a search warrant and were able to ascertain that the paint came from Home Depot and found the paint on the sisters' clothing. Both sisters were then laid with charges.

Provincial court judge, Gregory Rideout found Luba remorseful and that during the time of her vandalism she was part of a protest group called the Braided Warriors whose mission is to defend the land and people from capital colonial violence. One main goal is to stop the Trans Mountain expansion project and related works through staged protests.
