Eric Turgeon, a former tenant of the Saint-Pierre Church in Shawinigan, Quebec was arrested after uttering death threats to volunteers who were cleaning his belongings out of the basement of the church, reports Ici.radio-canada.

Turgeon had shown up at the church building, saw that volunteers had started the removal process of his belongings and started uttering death threat against them. The volunteers then barricaded themselves in the church and called police. Surete du Quebec came to arrest Turgeon for uttering threats and also stated that previously several calls had already been made recently about Mr. Turgeon.

His court date was scheduled for March 16, and he was released with the promise to show up on that day.

The church now has a new tenant, Anthony Tremblay, who found himself placed with the clean up process of Mr. Turgeon's personal effects. With how much Turgeon had left behind, Tremblay realized this process was going to take some help to do. He, the team of volunteers and a cleaning company were working on the last steps of removal. He stated that there is even some of the mess in the church itself. Tremblay hopes that the city will let him continue the process until all is completed.
