Man Charged after Disturbance and Damages at Holy Redeemer Parish in Kanata

As reported by CityNews a man entered Holy Redeemer Parish, shouting obscenities and attempted to damage an item on the high altar in Ottawa.

This man, 40-years old, was then detained by police who were called to the scene at roughly 9:20 a.m. There were no interactions with people inside the church, and no reported weapons. The man was charged with two counts of criminal harassment, breach of probation, and mischief of religious property.

Ottawa police's hate and bias crime unit is working on the investigation at this time.
