Relic Stolen at St. Thomas Syro-Malabar Catholic Church in Scarborough

In Scarborough, Ontario, relics, and the tabernacle key were stolen from St. Thomas Syro-Malabar Forane Catholic Church, reports CP24.

The break in occurred on Wednesday, and the church released a statement saying that relics and the tabernacle (the place where Jesus' body, the eucharist is housed) key were the items stolen.

Police constable, Ashley Visser says an individual had broken in and stole church items. The church also stated that the office was ravaged and documents were destroyed.

It is possible that this break in was intentional but the police are not sure of the motivation behind this act.
